Yes, we need more zoom-out :(
Noticed this as well.. quite the annoyance.
I do hope this is a bug and not something intended. Any official reply to this matter?

Ive noticed you stop running when you zoom to mouselook even on autorun :( That stuff gets us permablitzers killed.
But, it appears I can zoom out MORE than before...not less.
