OTPC Freelance: Non Corporate Cybernetic Technology Banned By Omni-Pol

Omni-Pol issue a short statement banning all cybernetic technology not developed by Omni-Tek in a public safety movement:

“Over the last few weeks, Omni-Pol has received multiple complaints over public safety after various malfunctions and errors caused when employees have been using cybernetic technology not developed by Omni-Tek.

Omni-Pol's main focus is and always will be the safety of our employees. As such, with immediate effect: All cybernetic technology that was not built by Omni-Tek or is no longer available on Omni-Tek markets is banned.

With Omni-Pol's current security increases across all Omni-Tek territories, all citizens are being regular scanned. Should any citizen be found to be none-compliant they will be immediately subject to disciplinary actions.*

Further to this, any entity that is comprised of more cybernetic technology than biological matter will be immediately detained. Citizens will also notice that former security measures have been reintroduced as a precautionary measure. We would like to stress that this has no correlation to the former Bahirae Seruguisu or her former Riot Specialists.

If any employee has any enquiries regarding cybernetic technology or entities, or would like to report su****ious activity we invite them to contact your nearest Officer.

Implants are cybernetic technology right? sooo.....does this mean everyone lucky enough to have acquired symbiants of any kind, including those wonderful blue Xan symbiants should hand them over? because seriously, good luck with that!

Then again at least one of my symbiants was given to me as a reward for service by an officer from Unicorn Company, so would that make it technically Omni Approved?

Correct. All citizens are required to only use Omni-Tek developed technology. Those who are none compliant will be detained, and the technology forcibly removed, followed by further corrective action.

If you or your bosses think clans, neutrals or even your own loyal employees will willingly hand over property that is:

1) Rightly theirs
2) Vastly superior to anything commerically available
3) Acquired at great personal expense and/or physical danger

Then you are dreaming. Seriously, with alleged Sentinels messing with Cyborg technology i understand the atmosphere of fear but these rules need to have a few reasonable exception clauses added to them, unless you want to potentially criminalize a great deal of otherwise loyal employees

My apologies, ive altered my comment to reflect the lack of actual evidence. Thanks for the coffee but i'll pass, nothing personal but until this Implants thing is cleared up i prefer the safety of the Shadowlands.

You seem to be under the impression that because you take residence in Jobe, Omni-Tek laws do not apply to you? Omni-Pol and other departments within Omni-Tek have on many occasions entered Jobe and detained employees, bringing them back to Omni-Tek controlled areas to dispense punishment.

Clans are not welcome in Omni-Tek areas and therefore this doesn't really apply to them. Any Neutral wishing to enter Omni-Tek areas will have to remove any banned technology before being permitted to cross into our territory.

Also:
1) Omni-Pol reserves the right to seize anything illegal. Ownership will be transferred to Omni-Pol and then destroyed. Employee rights in this matter are voided.
2) As a Omni-Tek employee, I don't expect to have to tell you that Omni-Tek products are, as always vastly superior to anything else.
3) This does not exempt the employee from the law.

The behaviour you have displayed thus for has me concerned. I'm going to arrange for you to attend a mandatory review with Omni-Reform and Omni-Pol.

I appreciate your offer and I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't tempted but not only do I have too many friends I wouldn't wish to turn my back on but by leaving Omni I'd be validating that Geers bitch and what she says. I'm not going to give her the satisfaction of forcing me out over this. Hopefully this rubbish will all blow over when someone above her paygrade realises just how unworkable it is in its present form and Cora, like the good puppet that she is will put on a fresh coat of brown lipstick and tow the party line as enthusiastically as she always does
