Funcom: Can you share about the loot-o-matic?

To answer questions we all have and which are scattered in lots of threads, can you give us any info on how chest loot is determined?

Does Perception play a part or is it truly random? I *think* my different characters get different loot depending on profession, but I wouldn't swear to it. Then again, my (multiple) NTs are the only ones who consistantly find vehicles of any kind.

Does the type of mission matter?

A bone or two would really be appreciated :)
