Reets Retreat -- OTPC -- Representatives of the Omni-Pol Organization claim that they had received permission from the ICC to arrest a popular DJ of GridStream Productions, named Otori, for allegedly broadcasting illegally over the grid.

In a statement given by Lomad, of Omni-Pol, “Orders came from Omni-Com to charge and detain one Kirk 'Otori' Barchus for illegally broadcasting over the grid. As Reets is outside of Omni-Pol jurisdiction, we had to clear the action with the ICC. The arrest was sanctioned by ICC, and our orders came from Omni-Com.”

Otori was detained and escorted by Omni-Pol to a neutral prison in Borealis. When asked more about who at ICC had approved this arrest, the Omni-Pol Representatives could not give a name, stating that "it is not protocol to exchange names. The technician stated that the Officer of the Watch gave his approval."

Nexeus, of GridStreams Productions made the following personal statements regarding the arrest, “Based on all of the information that I have gathered at the current moment, I feel that this arrest is a heinous action and unjustified on the part of Omni-Tek and the ICC. I feel that this arrest should not have happened based on unsecured claims and non-factual information.” He went on to say, “I will request from Omni-Pol that the safety and well being of DJ Otori is taken into consideration while he is in their custody. At the current moment I am not aware of any bail, or way to release DJ Otori out, but from what I understand, DJ Otori is NOT being treated in a humane manner. I would request that any real reason be brought to GridStream Productions for this arrest.”

As most everyone on Rubi-Ka knows, GridStream Productions is a clan organization that operates on neutral territory. There have been no official statements from Omni-Com or ICC stating that their broadcasts are illegal in any way. All claims that ICC has approved this arrest are uncertain at this time as well. However, there is rumor that Otori was pressured to make statements about Gridstream being involved in the recent CoT reformation activity. So the motives behind this detainment may be more than what it seems.

It should be noted that Omni-Pol is a privately ran Organization, but apart of the Omni-Tek Corporation. As such, actions taken by them may not always have the approval of the Omni-Tek administration itself or other governing bodies.

I am a member of The Council of Truth that came foward at the time of Dj Otoris arrest. I want to go on the record in saying that Dj Otori is NOT a member of CoT, nor is Gridstream Productions.

I have searched all the Councils Databases and have found no records at all even mentioning Otori or the Guild Gridstream Productions.

Please consider this an official statement.

Omni-Pol is pushing it, they seem to go after a more or less neutral defenceless organization that wouldnt hurt a leet if they so were forced to it! This is plain wrong!

To Gridstream Productions I say this, if you need funds or help for a "Free Otori" campain I would love to help!

This is a crime in and of itself, and the time for diplomacy is about to come to a swift halt for Omni-Pol. ICC has not sanctioned any such act, nor has Omni Command issued such an order to my knowledge.

We have leased the air rights at Reets Retreat for over 2 years now, and in our time we at GridStream Productions have given our full support for the peace-keeping efforts of the Omni-Pol organization.

This attack is unprovoked, unwarranted, and goes against every diplomatic truce we have had with the Omni-Pol organization to date. I strongly urge the leaders of said organization to reconsider their unneccessary attacks on our non-profit dedication to neutrality and entertainment, despite what diplomatic contracts we may hold that help to maintain our stability on Rubi-Ka. Otori is to be freed immediately.

Our broadcasts are not illegal, nor are we in any way affiliated with the reformation of the Council of Truth beyond reporting on it's advancement in a truthful and unbiased way.

GSP has our full support, and this matter yet again show the desperate nature of Omni-Pol. Clutching at imagintory straws, they strike out at random, exerting a jurisidction they clearly do not have. In addition, it seems that it is not beyond them to falsify records or to claim sanction by ICC without being able to produce the necessary papers.
These actions bear a clear resemblance to terrorist activity, and should be perceived as such. It is time Omni-Tek clean up their act, and correct Omni-Pol on their action.
As of now, Omni-Pol remains in my eyes a terrorist organization, inteded to spread fear and confusion in the eyes of innocents. They seem determined to act on whims, and to enforce their misguided views at gunpoint.
I will not tolerate this, and cannot guarantee for the safety of Omni-Pol personell any longer.

So.. Omni-pol wants to mess with GSP.. and more specifically, Otori eh? Even as far as to lie about ICC Sanctioning, as they know they don't have any jurisdiction in Reets.. They'll see.. I for one ain't gonna stand for this kinda crap against my family.

The way i herd it Omni-Pol was just serving an arrest warrant made out by OmniCCom, as they are contracted to do. Now, i´m trying to find the papertrail of this warrant, but there are litteraly millions of Terrabytes to search through, and it might not even be there at all. Just don´t blame Omni-Pol for doing their jobs. Sure an eventual warrant is low-grade Leet droppings, but orders are orders.

How ever, if it shows that they went out on their own they should suffer. No one messes with my favorite Stream. Now if you excuse me, i have certain Omni-Com people to have... words... with.

I have been allowed a brief response to the situation.

I am currently being held in Omni Entertainment with an unamed supporter that was too detained. I was arrested and held responsible because I was the senior Gridstream Production member on the scene at the time.

I am confident that the charges are without merit and will be dropped shortly. I will refine my statement once safely back to neutral or clan territory. I want to thank everyone for their support, but I ask you not to jump to conclusions about Omni Pol's position and reasons behind the incident.

After reading the latest responses to this thread and calming myself despite the circumstances, I'll say something on behalf of GSP that I should have said in the first place:

GridStream Productions does not condone any use of force, third-party or otherwise, to rescue DJ Otori or to retaliate against any OT organizations involved in this incident. Should there be any means to resolve this peacefully, we will make every attempt to do so.

Any organization launching any retaliatory offensive of any scale against Omni-Pol or any affiliated OT organization does so without the recognition or support of GridStream Productions.

This is troubling. As a Neutral in the struggle between Omni-Tek and the Clans I'm no great fan of the forms of entertainment provided by both sides, and few Neutral-minded ones exist and survive in a global structure hindered by many Omni-Tek policies laughingly recognized by The ICC. Gridstream Productions has shown a talent for hiring talented folks and despite being allied with the Clans seems to present a message I can accept.

Having known some friends who had moderate to long stays in Omni-Tek prisons, I hope Otori is as tough as his on-air persona seems. Regarding this situation I find it a bit odd or possibly prudent that the word coming from GSP in no way indcates this was inevitable. And though Omni-Pol arrested Otori I'm certain who they would've rather detained is the reclusive DJ Lan Kozar. After all it is Mr Kozar who regularly makes Sunday broadcasts from the Morningstar Station orbiting Rubi-Ka. To my knowledge this has never been an Omni-Tek or ICC approved broadcast and I believe that is precisely what has brought the hammer down on GSP.

And now with Mr Kozar's latest response, it almost seems like he's willing to sacrifice one of his employees to save his own hide. Hopefully Otori's got enough connections with former CoT members to possibly spark a jailbreak.

This is an outrage ... i will go to great lengths to ensure his release..by all means possible i ask the people to unit in this WE ARE MANY .... WE ARE STRONG..WE A RE CLAN ...RELEASE OTORI NOW !

This is absolutely ridiculous. Gridstream has never been about doing damage to Omni-Tek or it's precious reputation.

As a member of the media myself, I find it very troubling that the ICC would take such an action. What's next, denying Clan members their rights in Borealis?

I was myself present at Reet Retreat for the past week organising media coverage of various events, including Gridstream productions, and I suppose I should count myself as lucky having escaped capture! I will not soon be visiting Borealis or it's outlaying regions again.

Originally, the movement of ICC troops onto Rubi-Ka was meant to ease hostilies, not to extend Omni-Tek's reach into Neutral lands.

I would like to respond to the people who are blaming my department for this situation. Omni-Pol's job is to serve warrants issued by other departments within Omni-Tek. We do so routinely and efficiently. It is not our job to second-guess or refuse our orders. Any warrant that reaches us should already be fully legitimate. If it is found to be falsified... Well, that's not our department.

I have issued a full report to my superiors in Omni-Pol. Case number 53462 is no longer in my hands.

The warrant served by Corporal Lomad was carried out following the communication from Omni-Com. The arrest was logged between the hours of 06:00 and 08:00GMT yesterday morning.

The log reveals unsatisfactory behaviour towards my officers who were fulfilling their position EVEN when they were protecting Mr. Barchus from the Neutral guards that Mr. Barchus himself voiced via comm device to be acting inhumanely to him.

The log also reveals that there was a lack of evidence supplied by Omni-Com upon the order being released.

Mr. Barchus was released from Omni-Pol custody at approximately 08:00 GMT. There was an interferance from an external organisation who then went on to illegally capture the DJ.

Corporal Lomad interveened at this time to once again ensure Mr Barchus' safety and escorted him to Stret West Bank.

If those who have commented within this grid feed have any complaints, I feel they should be directed to those who endangered this civillians life. Not while he was within Omni-Pol custody.

I would like to formally apologise to Mr Barchus, Mr Kozar and any other persons within GridStream Productions for any upset caused.

Let me clarify at least my position; in this case, my anger and outrage is not at Omni-Pol, but at Omni-Com and the ICC.

It seems that the ICC can not be trusted as a truly neutral organization any longer. The Dawn Network's Rubi-Ka outpost will be moved from Borealis to an undisclosed, safer location.

I am curious, however, as to how Gridstream Productions will respond to keep their staff safe in the future. I am sure they well know that there are thousands of citizens of all walks of life willing to defend them, and hopefully those citizens realize that a military response would be an improper solution here.

Official Follow-up Communique From Lan Tarryk Kozar

While I feel that Omni-Pol should not have to apologize for following orders, I feel that these orders may have come from an unreliable source, which in turn raises strong concerns about the stability of the law enforcement structure on Rubi-Ka.

The law is, however, still duely enforced by Omni-Pol and it's dedicated officers.

GridStream Productions officially stands down from any countermeasures presumed; friendly diplomatic relations with Omni-Pol will remain unchanged.

If you need anyone to blame, It's whoever issued the premature arrest warrant in Omni-Com. Omni-Pol was simpley the tool for carrying out the order, not the cause of it.

Hello, Farfin Zix here, Executive and Editor in Chief of the IRRK. I've begun an investigation into this situation as the evidence presented so far is lackluster at best. I'll keep you appraised of my findings.
